There is something pretty ruthless when you realize going home isn’t an option, you find yourself missing it even more, especially those scenes that are forever engrained in your memory. This particular photo was taken in “La Gran Sabana” (the Great Savanna) which is believed to be home to some of the oldest landforms of the Earth.
I don’t mean this lightly, when I say that everyone who has visited this place has in some form been captivated not only by the scenes all around you, but by the Earth’s energy that reverberates in everyone that sets foot in this area.
Amongst these amazIng table top mountains called Tepuys, there are a myriad of waterfalls, rivers and water catchments. If you know me, you know I am always drawn to water. Upon exploring this area eons ago, I came across this view which is one that has always mesmerized me for reason I cannot logically explain. It was a small water catchment, so pure and so still it was impossible not to delay the whole group just so that I could take a photo. It was then I realized that underneath the lilies and the crystal clear water there was so much life teeming about. How can one hidden spot hold so much beauty?
I miss the vibrance of life, being able to explore my surroundings “despeinada y en cholitas” and connect with nature at a level that goes much deeper than what can be seen on the surface, I miss reconnecting with myself and being grounded by my relationship with the natural world.
When all this is finished, I will go back home to look for the enchanting lilies and the peace they once brought.
