Overheard on Safari II

I have been collecting sayings for a while, there is magic and wisdom in half-overheard conversations or in great one-liners delivered in wild spaces. We seem to be able to breathe more freely in the wild and that’s when real life advice or just very odd phrases come out. Either way, they have all been memorable enough to be written down.

If you missed part 1, you can find it here. Let me know if you enjoy them, because they certainly have me stop, think and more frequently than not, laugh.

  1. “We’re counting husbands, not gins” (I found this to be great wisdom!)
  2. “I’m not a cook, I’m an entertainer”
  3. “Then they say salad doesn’t make you fat, look at those elephants”
  4. “That’s my life now. Yesterday I wanted to buy a Hermes scarf, today I know I don’t need it” (This is a personal favorite one as it was delivered after a local community tour)
  5. “A life where you don’t think, that’s it’s a life worth living”
  6. “I don’t want to take care of you when I get home, I want you to be healthy” (Couple on their 50th wedding anniversary)
  7. “You have a flat tire, I have a flat love life” (Guest to guide)
  8. “One foot in front of the other, right?”
“That’s the only way…and sometimes a side step thru the shit”
  9. “I can die of malaria, but not of being cold”
  10. “My mom used to ground me for cussing so much, but I love them”
  11.  “Money can’t buy happiness”
“Nah, you just don’t know where to shop”.
  12. “Anything in the mouth is the answer”.
  13. “There comes a time when you have to chose between the face and the ass. I always choose the face”.
  14. “If I’m gonna drink, it better be a party” (Amen, sister!)
  15. “ It’s not unlikely they dropped the ball, gaslight them” (if only you knew what company this refers too!).

I will continue collecting these timeless pearls of wisdom and entertainment. Until next time!
